On Tuesday, Netflix surprised fans with the latest promotional image from the highly anticipated fifth season. The poster hints at looming danger and intense adventure for Eleven and her crew. It also honors the show’s legacy, which began nine years ago on July 15, 2016.
The poster features the core group of friends on the run. In the background looms Vecna—still a looming, deadly threat. The visual suggests a fierce battle ahead as both sides prepare to destroy one another.

What Is Stranger Things 5 About?
The story picks up in fall 1987, with Hawkins still reeling from the devastating opening of the Rifts. Vecna has vanished without a trace, and Eleven reunites with her friends to find and stop him once and for all.
However, there’s more at stake than ever. The U.S. government has imposed a military quarantine over the town. At the same time, it ramps up its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding.
As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance nears, fear begins to grip the town. A darker and more dangerous threat looms. To stop it, the group must come together again—possibly for the last time.
